Monday afternoon brought the fresh air and warmth. The picnic table down in my woods was calling me. My mother and I grabbed our sixty year old nature book and slipped down to the shaded picnic table. My camera around my neck, ready to snap the first of Spring. We are making plans to get sketch books to sketch the creatures we see when we go down there every day after school.
The birds flew over head and their shadows went over the grass. The first snake was seen, and honestly, yes, I might of ran away screaming--and then seconds later found myself returning to observe it. The sun shined beautifully on the creek. Welcome back Spring, I have long since missed you.
The kitty cat came along also.
It was an afternoon well spent in nature.
