There is something about traveling and trips that I have always savored. Possibly the attempt to fill your suitcase so much, that you have to sit on it to zip it closed. Possibly being able to sit in the back seat, staring out the window--thinking and dreaming. Possibly jamming out to some 70's classics in the car and getting strange looks. Possibly connecting your camera to the computer and seeing that you took over 150 pictures. Possibly the feeling you get when you finally arrive at your destination. Possibly it's seeing the beauty of all the different states you've passed through. Traveling is just plain wonderful.
A few pictures from the drive down:
We took a walk downtown, at this place called "The Riverwalk". It reminded me of Paris. There were little boats floating through. We stopped in a little cafe and they had adorable fudge and ice cream. We sat by the river. Ducks floated by and some even stopped for a visit.. There were beautiful bridges that you walked underneath. It all felt like a "little Paris", but in Texas.
Besides the fact that I almost died a few times, by tripping on the sidewalk--it was a lovely sort of day.
More pictures for ya'll:
You are probably wondering about the title. Here they all say "ya'll" and I adore it--as much as I do the state. I am sorta sad to be leaving this beautiful place, but I am feeling an urge to get home and jump into my own bed. Even though this place may be way warmer; the air may be fresher; and the grass may be greener-- I miss my brown, cold, and not as fresh air, my Kansas.
Love,
Cindi the Texas lover
{ P.S.Next Monday, something really exciting is happening.}

Great pictures. I have family down in Houston, but would you believe I never visit?? Plane fare is just too expensive for my liking. But these pictures were awesome, especially the one of the bridge.

ReplyDeleteDear Cindi,
ReplyDeleteI would like to say your welcome firstly, but I really just can't help but comment, your writing agrees with me. You know when you read someone's writing and no matter how good it is, it just doesn't appeal to you. The there's the ones you read and immediately you love it.
Well, it's the latter for your writing. I just feel wonderful when I read it.
Now, to the post itself, I,of course, love it. I have never experienced real traveling across states, though it sounds lovely. I now cannot wait to feel the excitement for myself. Your pictures are wonderful, I especially like the fourth one, the feeling you've captured I that one is delightful.
Love,
Rebekah
I just read this post -- love it! Wonderful pictures. And... wait, you live in Kansas? I used to live there, really close to Oklahoma. So cool! :)
