mid-afternoon escape

Mid-afternoon. The house was silent, it was break time. I threw on my {favorite} boots and my jeans. As I slipped out the back door, I breathed in the air that smelled like the welcoming of spring. The sun shined on my back, as I walked the little distance to the woods. Beyond the trees, and over the creek, stood my new friend. My new horse, Ginger. I have fallen absolutely in love with her and you could say, her with me. My new friend walks right by my side, stops when I stop, turns when I turn. She is such a blessing.

As I finished up my little time down in the secluded woods, I came up-- boots muddy, jeans dirty, and hair. . . let's just say rather crumpled and messy from our faithful and trusty Kansas wind. I found for myself some delicious pumpkin bread , a cup of milk, and one of my many journals to finish up my afternoon break.

 Isn't she a beauty?

I fail at braiding my hair.

  1. This is beyond lovely. I can almost feel the wind dancing through my hair.

What a beautiful horse. There is something so wonderful about an animal's company, isn't there? I don't have an lovely horse, but I make do with my cats. ;)

Thanks for the inspiration, I definitely need a nice walk alone. Maybe after those intimidating dishes are overcome.
    Have a lovely day,
