My bed was left unmade. I didn't finish cleaning the kitchen. I might have eaten three ice cream cones. I spent my early morning at the window with a cup of tea and my journal. I observed the birds through the window, until I accidentally frightened them off. I wore a "unmeant-to-be" messy braid. Imperfect me. Created profoundly and sacred. . .but broken.
I have often blogged about my days that are lovely and seemingly flawless. But that is the nature of blogging. We can share our best moments and put on a sheen. But lets be honest, few of us ever have such thing as a flawless day. I heard a quote once-"God is pleased with me for today. He is just not satisfied.". . . that describes today.
Today was an imperfectly perfect day.

I've had some of those days. They're deliciously peaceful. The day after one, however, is very hectic because of all the stuff I didn't get done the day before =)

ReplyDeletethank you for this, and for sharing you with us! I'm so thankful God meets us where we are at, imperfections and all. He wants our brokenness so He can make us whole...
How beautiful. It's nice to have nothing to do... wait maybe not.

ReplyDeleteYes! I completely understand. Life is and never will be perfect, and we just need to stop trying to make it perfect. Stunning photos, by the way!
